I wish that putting the mess behind the camera qualified as actual cleaning…
Anyway, four months after moving in, I finally have some art up, a couple projects done, and, as of two days ago, blackout curtains. So, I figured this was a good time to do another apartment update. My style has definitely evolved since the condo; if it wasn’t already clear, my favorite color is black now. The apartment vibe is mid-century modern meets Scandinavian style, and I’m pretty happy with it (thanks white walls!).
Enjoy the tour! Sources are at the bottom of each room.
The first impression. It brings me happiness when it’s clean (… and not filled with empty boxes from online orders).
How amazing is that before and after?! Last weekend I got to shoot my friend Jen’s kitchen (and a bit of her living room if you scroll down). Jen and her boyfriend Tyler live in a condo in Lincoln Park and recently re-did their kitchen. Here’s what it used to look like:
My very talented designer friend Jennifer Tullo asked me to take pictures of a nursery she designed for her friend Cece Novotny’s son Jack. I obviously said yes (especially in an effort to start featuring homes not my own). With the combination of the great design (nice job Jen!) and the National Park travel posters, I (not surprisingly) loved the space.
Today’s home tour is close to home (a couple miles actually). This condo belongs to my friend’s Christie & Josef. I love everything about their home but my absolute favorite room is the small sitting room in the front of the condo. The natural light + decor + plants were absolute perfection.
I’m so excited to share my first official Design Evolving home tour. Since my home is mostly finished now (minus the hole in my ceiling), I decided to share other ones. First up is my friend Sam’s Dallas Apartment. Sam moved from Chicago to Dallas about a year and a half ago (which is why there are so many awesome Chicago elements in her home). We’ve now worked together twice so when work sent me to Dallas I made her let me take pictures of her apartment.
