I’ve been in my condo 11 months now. While I love my current condo, I always find myself thinking of my next home. We always want what we don’t have, right? While I would love a large home with a pool, that isn’t realistic, so I put together a list of must-haves for my next home, likely another condo.
Here’s the current wish list:
I love built-ins. When I was looking at condos, a few had gorgeous built-ins.
Love everything about these built-ins from Smitten Studio…
Love the color of these and how these bookcases go around a doorway from TrendHome. I’ve been debating painting the inside of my IKEA bookcases a teal like this and this photo may have sold me on it.
2. Lots of natural light
Natural light makes a space feel so much brighter and open. My current condo is a courtyard so while I do have decent light, it’s shaded a lot. I would love big windows and more direct sunlight in my next place.
How amazing is this combination of windows and wood floors from A+B Kasha?
3. Non-generic kitchen tile
My condo has that very generic kitchen tile that is in every rental apartment. I love wood floors in the kitchen, but if I’m also a huge fan of tile.
How gorgeous are these tiles? Carey and Erv Salvador’s kitchen featured on Design*Sponge.
Love these herringbone wood floors and the two-toned kitchen from remain simple.
Beautiful gray cabinets and the marble countertops in this kitchen designed by architect Gerry Smith and featured on Remodelista. Those floors though… I can’t even.
4. Central Air
No photo needed for this one. I want central air conditioning (even though my post on hiding my wall unit went a little viral).
5. A Bath Fan
Again, no photo needed. It’s a small thing but a huge must-have. My current condo doesn’t have one and when I open the door after I shower, the steam from the bathroom causes the fire alarm to go off. Climbing a ladder to reset the fire alarm in a towel is not fun.
That’s it. My top 5 wish list items:
- Tons of natural light
- Non-generic kitchen tile
- Central air conditioning
- Bath fan
