In search of the perfect credenza

I love mid-century credenzas. My dining room needs one. Possibly under my gallery wall. Possibly on another wall. Either way, I need one.

First, some inspiration…

I want them all. If only these beauties weren’t so expensive… So, today’s mood board is a round up of mid century credenzas (sideboards/buffets) from around the web for any budget.

mid century credenzas

one. Urban Outfitters Moda Storage Console ($679) // two. West Elm Mid-Century Small Media Console ($699) // three. West Elm Dumont Buffet in White ($799) // four. West Elm Large Mid-Century Buffet ($899) // five. Dot&Bo Katrine Sideboard ($1,498.99) // six. Dot&Bo Henry Walnut Sideboard ($1,699.99)

So, which one should I get??? Keep in mind I have more of a West Elm budget…

Love your blog! And thank you for the air conditioner cover hack. It’s exactly what I need. My air conditioner sticking out of the wall is the bane of my existence! I detest that thing.
Anyhoo, re. credenza. You’re in Chicago, right? Have you ever been to Jubilee Furniture out in Carol Stream? It’s run by Outreach Community Ministries and resells donated furniture, putting the $$ towards their programs for those in need. Prices are great and they often have amazing midcentury stuff, including buffets and dressers than can be used as buffets. Saw an awesome midcentury china hutch there last week, copper handles still intact, I think for less than $200. I’m not into MCM but man, that hutch was pretty. Here’s the blog: http://www.jubileefurniture.blogspot.com/
Posts every Thursday. Scroll down for pics of some of the inventory. Go back through a few posts to get a feel for what they get in. You can see there’s a lot of … um, stuff I’d never buy, but some gems too. The thrill of the treasure hunt.

Thanks, Alice! I’m glad you liked the air conditioner cover hack. It’s so nice to not have to stare at the ugly wall unit AC anymore!

That’s a great find for the credenza! I’ll have to check it out. I’ve been looking for vintage or thrift store options too.

Thanks, Victoria! When I adopted my dog Maestro they said border collie mix (because of his coloring) but I did a DNA test and turns out he doesn’t have any border collie in him haha. He’s quite the Heinz 57 mix.
